Elisabetta Moro is Full Professor of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Naples S.O.B. Her book La dieta mediterranea. Mito e storia di uno stile di vita (Bologna, Il Mulino 2014) and her essay "The Mediterranean Diet from Ancel Keys to the UNESCO Cultural Heritage. A Pattern of Sustainable Development between Myth and Reality" (Elsevier 2016) has brought the genealogy of the Mediterranean Diet to the attention of researchers, scholars and media. She is co-director of the MedEatResearch - Center of Social Researches on the Mediterranean Diet at the University of Naples S.O.B., and European Coordinator of the Research Program ALIMECS (L’alimentation à l’école entre médiations, éducation et circulation des saviors).
Moro is member of the scientific board of the F.I.C.O. Foundation in Bologna, and columnist at the Swiss Magazine ‘Il Caffè’ and at the Italian newspaper ‘Il Mattino’. Her video interviews with the pioneers of the MD (Blackburn, Menotti, Stamler, Mancini…), published on the site Granaries of Memory, received the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards 2017. She is World Ambassador of the Mediterranean Diet for the UNESCO community of Pollica.
