Danilo Ercolini is Full Professor in Microbiology at the Department of Agricultural Sciences, the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. PhD in Food Science and Technology in 2003. Marie Curie Fellowship at the University of Nottingham, UK in 2001/02. Lecturer in Microbiology the University of Naples Federico II, Italy from November 2002 to December 2011 and associate Professor from 2011 to 2015.
The overall scientific activity dealt so far with the study of microbial ecology in food, human microbiome and other complex ecosystems. He has been scientific responsible of several grants and involved in the supervision of many students. The scientific activity is documented in more than 110 publications in international journals in the last 15 years. He is Associte Editor of “Frontiers in Food Microbiology” and Academic Editor of “PLOS ONE” and memeber of the Editorial Board of several scientific journals including “Applied and Environmental Microbiology”, “Microbial Biotechnology”, “Food Microbiology” and “International Journal of Food Microbiology”.
