Marino Niola is Anthropologist of Contemporaneity, Full Professor of Anthropology of Symbols at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University in Naples, and the author of the best-selling Homo Dieteticus. Viaggio nelle tribù alimentari (Bologna, Il Mulino, 2016), and of I luoghi della dieta mediterranea (with Moro, Bologna, Il Mulino, 2017).
Niola is columnist at the daily 'La Repubblica', and the weekly 'D' and 'Il Venerdì', he is consultant of many TV programs.
Niola is co-director of the MedEatResearch - Center of Social Researches on the Mediterranean Diet at the University of Naples S.O.B., and member of the board of the F.I.C.O. Foundation in Bologna. He is World Ambassador of the Mediterranean Diet for the UNESCO community of Pollica.
